The Sruthiswara School Of Music has my permission to use or my child’s photograph or video publicly to promote the school and the business. Registration Details:
Registration is required for all students. Our school year runs from September through June. New student registrations are accepted throughout the school year. There is a registration fee of $25 for all newcomers who will, in turn, receive a school jute bag with notebook, pencil etc for their class materials. Lesson books can be purchased for a nominal fee of $10 each.
Payment Information
- Payment is due on or before the first class of each month and must be made on time.
- Payment received after the 10th of the month may be subject to a late payment fee of $10.
- An initial last month (June) school year payment is needed upfront for all newcomers.
- Payment is accepted via Zelle, check, cash, debit cards, credit cards, paypal or electronic bank transfers. Please contact the instructor for more details.
Payment Discounts:
- All individuals who present qualified referrals will receive a 5% discount towards one month’s fees.
- We provide a sibling discount of 10%.
Canceling A Lesson:
- Whenever possible, planned absences should be notified at least 24 hours before the scheduled class. Without this prior notification, planned absences may result in forfeiture of payment.
- Unplanned absences should be notified as early as possible.
- For all planned/unplanned absences, it is the responsibility of the student/parent to work with the instructor and make arrangements for a make-up class.
- For classes canceled by the instructor due to falling on a holiday per the Sruthiswara school calendar or any other reason, make-up classes will be arranged by the instructor. The exception is the week of Christmas through New Year’s Day and the week of spring break, for which no make-up classes apply.
Scheduling a Make up Lesson:
A maximum of two (2) make-up classes will be available each month for classes missed due to sickness, family emergencies, vacations, etc.
Music Certification Courses:
- Sruthiswara is affiliated with two universities and credits can be used towards college admission:
- Vedic Wellness University FL, USA
- Sampada Silicon Andhra University CA, USA
- Assessments and exams are conducted every year and certifications are awarded for levels completed. Please contact the instructor for more information.
Performance Opportunities
- Sruthiswara holds an annual recital, usually before the start of summer break, which provides all students of the school an opportunity to perform. Additionally, various groups of students are given opportunities to perform at events conducted by regional organizations throughout the year.
- Performance rehearsal sessions for all programs are offered at no cost.
- Performance notifications are sent well in advance. Parents are requested to confirm their availability to participate at the earliest and not change their plans once confirmed unless any emergencies arise.
Discontinuing Lessons:
- 30-day advance notice is required for students who wish to discontinue classes.
- The initial one month upfront payment will be used if 30 days advance notification is provided.
Group/Private Class:
- Music classes are mostly taught in groups of four or more. Private (one-on-one) and semi-private (two-person) classes are arranged only based at the instructors’ discretion. Classes are offered in-person and online.
- Classes are held once per week on weekday evenings and Saturday mornings and are 60 minutes in duration for groups and 30 minutes in duration for individuals.
- Parents are requested not to sit and watch their children in the classroom while classes are in session (only for group, in-person classes).
- Students are allowed to come five minutes before their scheduled class and should be picked up no later than ten minutes after the class is over (only for in-person classes).
- Parents are requested to provide the necessary materials and environment for their children to practice and to encourage and monitor regular practice at home. It is expected for the children/parents to record homework assignments and daily practice in their notebooks.
- Each class begins at the scheduled start time with no extensions provided to late-comers.
- Younger children should be accompanied to and from the class by an adult as appropriate (only for in- person classes)
